hi, have you met me?

So the last time I posted was, um, almost a month ago? Uh. Hey. ::sheepish wave::


*Right after that, my trusty netbook died. My mom got me a new one for Christmas (this one, if anyone's interested) which was cool of her since I couldn't really afford it on my own at the moment. That said, it was something like three weeks with no home access to the internet except for my iPhone, just in time for the penultimate Merlin episode. But I survived! It's possible! I read books and shit! Though I know I missed a crapton of flist goings on, so sorry. (Point me toward the notable/good stuff?)


*I have finally seen Merlin, and Sherlock Holmes, I've read some Yuletide, and I even caught the Doctor Who finale yesterday while clutching mklutz's virtual hand. It seems a little silly at this point to comment on anything, as everyone else has already said pretty much everything ages ago. ( Okay, but seriously, Doctor Who. Hmm, not so much with squee. )


*Also rageprufrock and thehoyden made me watch (okay, I went willingly) Die Hard 4 over New Years. This resulted in me spending most of this weekend indoors (it was freezing, okay?) reading John/Matt fic. This is what happens when everything is on hiatus.


*Lots of people seem to have done 2009 Year in Review stuff, which is cool. I have whipped up my own version:

Lesson learned: lines are silly, and meant to be crossed. I am on track for 2010 to have no lines/standards whatsoever. By this time next year I fully expect to be doing nothing but injecting MPREG and sweeping Civil War AUs (and sweeping MPREG Civil War AUs) between my toes like someone from Trainspotting.


*So. How are you guys?

I’ve watched all four seasons of the new Who (and all of Torchwood, though nothing of the Sarah Jane Adventures, it’s still on my to do list). I’m not traditionally fannish about DW, per se- while invested in it, I don’t read fic, and have never gone much beyond episode reviews and the like. (Also, the fandom seems to be a bit crazy, y/n?)

I also haven’t seen a bit of the original Who. Because I am a completist, I’m easily intimidated by so many years of canon. If I were going to watch it, I’d have to watch it ALL. (This is also why I’ve never gotten into anime- I just know I don’t have the time.) So on the one hand, I’m an ignorant American here. On the other hand, I totally have a TARDIS piggy bank.

Now that everyone has heard about David Tennant leaving DW, I have a question. circa_eve and I were talking about the next doctor, and she wondered something.

The question, to those who know better than I, is this: would they ever cast a woman as the next Doctor?

Personally, I think it’d be AWESOME. I know some of the fans would probably grumble about it, but you’d think, considering the queerness of the RTD Who’verse, that it has to be a possibility, right?

Has this already been talked to death before? Am I late to this party? (If so, please point me to the wank. It’s a slow day at work and I have nothing to do but count the lay offs.)

Not much to say about this week's Doctor Who, as I'm busy and getting sucked into a Photoshop K Hole for my magazine project, but... ( Doctor Who- Blink spoilers )

Also, apparently I need to watch the SGA cast on the Spaceys. I'm going to get around to that sometime.
